“All great things are an accumulation of many many small things.” - As part of our effort to help reduce the over abundant use of single-use plastics; we’ve decided to include reusable tote bags with every bottle purchased on our site. While it may not seem like much, we know we’re just one part of a larger puzzle that includes people from all over the world working together to solve a big problem. #reducesingleuse #oneplanetlessplastic #planetorplastic #staytruflask
A staggering one million single use, plastic water bottles are purchased around the globe every minute. Most of which end up in our oceans or landfill. It's an environmental crisis predicted to be as bad, if not worse than climate change. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Many of you would have read this quote from the Ellen MacArthur foundation: “Without change, the ocean is expected to contain one tonne of plastic for every three tonnes of fish by 2025, and by 2050, more plastics than fish." ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ That's a shocking statistic but something which can easily be managed now simply by taking our own reusable water bottles out with us. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I've used reusable plastic bottles in the past but I like using a stainless bottle, especially in summer because it keeps the water cold. Mostly for Charlie!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Do use a reusable water bottle? If not, why not? Absolutely no judgement here, I'd love to know what might be stopping you. It's important to understand the barriers to change and how we can make thing easier for people to do better for the planet. @_water3_ #unbottled #TGHpartner

Veil • One of the best, and also saddest parts of approaching 4 decades on this water globe is finding the value in my individuality. We spend so much energy trying to emulate. Sadly this is always a guarantee to come up short, and as such a recipe for self deprecation. • We are all plagued with the delay of originality. We spend so much of our formative and early years being told to be, or trying to be something we are not. Or perhaps more so to fit into a mold that best represents the norms of society. Rather than embracing the throws of our own originality. Everyone has at some point been told to be themselves. Yet, how can you grasp this when you’ve spent your life trying to be something you’re not? • The power of humanity exists in the reality that no matter what we experience, we each perceive it differently. At times massively, other minutely. Individually nonetheless. It’s in this perception that makes us who we are, and why so many of us bring something so different to the same table. Yet, despite its promise we compare. We compare ourselves to our idols, our competitors, our neighbors and even our families. Perhaps this is evolutionary hierarchy, or perhaps it’s just insanity. Either way, I find so few people who embrace the way they see the world, yet try so hard to see it like someone else.

Seeing the amount of plastics and other items on a no-name island makes one wonder what lies beneath the surface that is not always visible to the eye. We can’t be blind to this mess and how it affects life at, above, and below sea level. A good way to start is by taking the pledge to use less single-use plastic with @natgeo *link in bio* and learn more about every day acts you can do to help improve the environment’s health, which is also our health and the futures... ✌🏻 #planetorplastic #reducereuserecycle #mydubai #beachcleanup #environmentalwellness #trashed

#planetorplastic #meioambiente

Inspired by the recent powerful @natgeo June magazine cover for their campaign “Planet or Plastic?” I created a mock-up magazine cover following the topic of too much plastic in our environment. Depicted here are clown fish living in what seems to be an anemone, which is their natural underwater home. With a closer look, the anemone is actually a collection of plastic straws. An average of 500 million single-use plastic straws are used daily in the United States alone. It is predicted that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. It is time that the people of the Earth start making progressive changes and being conscious of our human impact. The planet is not solely ours. If we continue to slowly disrupt and destroy natural recourses and species, we will slowly disrupt and destroy our own lives. CALL TO ACTION: Today I ask you to make one small change: say NO to single-use plastics like straws. Your first step can be purchasing a reusable straw. *Disclosure: I am not affiliated with National Geographic and this is not a real magazine cover that National Geographic is publishing. This is a mock-up to promote National Geographic, promote the better good of eco-awareness, and to simple display my skills as a content maker and personal support for National Geographic.
Just look at all the plastic bags, in just one household!! @natgeo on Instagram has recently opened my eyes to the global plastic waste crisis that our planet is experiencing. Did you know that plastic DOES NOT decompose?? It will sit around in our landfills (or wherever people throw it) for YEARS to come!! And, these bags are being used globally, at a rate of 160,000 bags PER SECOND!! 😳 (And this is just bags! Not to mention the plastic straws, take out containers, and all kinds of plastic packaging we buy most of our products in!) Plastic waste is polluting our lands, rivers, beaches and oceans, killing our wildlife, marine life, and essentially killing our earth. It’s unbelievable what we, as the custodians of this planet, have allowed to happen. 😢 No more plastic bags for me!! I am going to crochet these bags up into reusable waste bins, bags, backpacks, etc. to use around the house, and ONLY use reusable bags for all my shopping, from now on! Let’s all try to reduce the amount of plastic waste in our households! #everylittlebithelps #pleaserecycleyourplasticbags #PlanetorPlastic #zerowaste #reducereuserecycle

Menjadi Pahlawan pembasmi Sampah Good Job 😀 . . . . Regrann from @driego_outofway - 🇬🇧 Yesterday with those fellas we decided to make something for the planet, for the river and for the oceans. Yesterday we cleaned up part of the #Ticino river, a river that stars from Switzerland and goes trough North Italy... Plastic pollution is an big problem in ours days and we need to make a change! From wikipedia: "Plastic pollution can afflict land, waterways and oceans. Living organisms, particularly marine animals, can be harmed either by mechanical effects, such as entanglement in plastic objects or problems related to ingestion of plastic waste, or through exposure to chemicals within plastics that interfere with their physiology. Humans are also affected by plastic pollution. ..." Do something for the planet, for you and for everyone! Change is possible but we need everyone to help! . . A week ago, our little #beachclean in #Pittenweem was featured in a national paper, as part of ‘The Great Plastic Pick Up’, https://dailym.ai/2wExVIi Despite knowing that more rubbish would wash in with the next tide, it felt good to be raising awareness. Still, sometimes it feels like we’re fighting a losing battle. : It was especially disheartening to see so many blue #rubbergloves washing up in and around the harbour, alongside #plasticbottles , plastic fishing rope, juice cans, polystyrene food trays, plastic wrappers, plastic straws, plastic bags, and much more plastic - all of it degrading, in more ways than one. : Depending on my mood, this issue causes me to write, talk, shout, cry, act - and ask questions. What more can we do? What more can I do? While I feel there’s always more to do, others laugh at the extent of my concern and think its all a bit much. And I lose faith. I wonder, what’s the point? : Then I remember how dangerous it is to ignore this issue. Last week, a dolphin was found dead on a British beach with part of a rubber glove in its gut. Somehow, that glove was dropped into the ocean. And it became part of a ripple effect. Increasingly people are worried about eating too much wild fish because more and more fish are being found with toxic plastic in their bodies. And it’s soul destroying that I can’t let my toddler run on a beautiful beach without scanning it for toxic pollution first. It could be much worse. Someone else has to live close to the landfills and dumps that leach plastic chemicals into our water ways. https://ind.pn/2IEy9ke : For me, the shoreline is the frontline in the fight against plastic - and all kinds of pollution. The good news is that so many #waterwarriors and #ecowarriors are now turning out to help #turnthetide . People are learning to #saynotosingleuseplastic . And although you may feel like your individual choices are insignificant, one way or the other, they will have an impact. Every drop in the ocean has a ripple effect. #SOS . xo : #bethechange #saveourseas #endoceanplastics #sos #savethewhale #waterprotectors #waterwarriors #nobluenogreen #nowaternolife #lovetheocean #plasticorplanet #planetorplastic
