I truly believe that hard work is the key to success! Any one who is willing to go above and beyond for success will succeed!! Engineering is no exception to this! Engineering requires those who will governor to find solutions to problems! So the best engineers work more then the required amount of time to succeed!! Dedication is an amazing personality trait! Those of you who have to work ethic and motivation will do the best in life! #workhard #dedication #change #engineering #womeninengineering #inspire #future

❄️ Day 13 in Antarctica ❄️ In the morning we departed for Horseshoe Island, which at almost 68 degrees south, was the southern-most landing we made on the voyage. It was an absolutely beautiful day – not a breath of wind and the sun was shining. We landed on a shingle beach near a hillside that was covered in snow. This was to be the location for our International Women's Day photo. After the communal polar plunge photo had been vetoed, the group decided to mark the day by recreating the Homeward Boundlogo - the OX symbol. Marie and photographer Oli had the difficult talk of getting us all into position from their vantage point at the bottom of the hill. After an hour of shuffling us in to place, the photo was taken, and we slid back down the hill to the beach. Greg had previously identified Horseshoe Island as a good spot for a polar plunge for those of us that still wanted to do it. The doctor assessed the conditions and gave the go-ahead - after all the air temperature was well above zero thanks to the sunshine. The water was very cold, but not as unpleasant as we were expecting. The worst part was that almost immediately, my feet started going painfully numb, which made navigating the rocky sea shore particularly challenging. Nevertheless, it was an exhilarating experience, and I doubt there are many people that have swam in waters below the Antarctic circle! Back on the ship, we revisited ‘Rothera-gate’ and explored our personal response through the lens of our LSI results (a thinking styles diagnostic tool that we had used throughout the year-long program), and talked about how we could have approached the situationthrough the constructive thinking styles. We finished the afternoon with the final stage of our Gender Equity World Cafe. I joined a group looking at how science communication can help raise the profile of women in STEMM. We came up with 3 great ideas that we want to implement over the next year or so, and one is already in progress so watch this space! I found the world café process really enjoyable, and also extremely productive, and I will definitely be using it to facilitate group discussions in my teaching. (1st pic by @olisansom)
The best way to avoid studying is to get yourself some bingsu (Korean shaved ice)🍧 And if you feel guilty pick up some coffee☕️ for studying afterwards 😢✒️📝 🍧 🍧 🍧 #Koreatown #bingsu #Korea #NYC #Kpop #BTS #CaffeBene #icecream #coffee #study #studygram #studyblr #studyspo #premed #premedlife #premedblr #premedmotivation #premedtip #premedadvice #doctorgoals #medicine #medical #medicalscience #futuredoctor #prehealth #science #engineer #womeninmedicine #womeninengineering #girlboss

regram @rocketstarspace For many decades Wernher Von Braun dreamt about getting man to Mars and from 1950-1970 he articulated his detailed vision in a technical science fiction novel (Project Mars), papers, reports and commissioned drawings. Over the next 8 nights, RocketStar is going to present a glimpse of von Braun's vision for Mars through a series of images he used to try and convince the U.S. government to continue its planetary space program. However, it was not to be when in 1973 NASA's Moon program was shut down and with it any and all hope of getting to Mars by 1983. Here is the first in a series of images that show Von Braun's glorious space vision in stunning detail... VON BRAUN'S ROCKET-SHIP: 265 feet tall 64 foot base diameter FIRST Stage: 51 engines, 28 million lbs. thrust SECOND Stage: 34 engines, 3.5 million lbs. thrust THIRD Stage: winged & recoverable w/ 4 engines, 440,000 lbs. thrust PAYLOAD: 36 tons ORBIT: 1075 miles MISSION: To deliver components from which a permanent space station with large scale industrial 3D replication facilities is built. * Follow my instagram if you love 😍 Aerospace Engineering : ➡ @we_love_aerospace_engineering 👫Love to tag? Yarn and power tools? Two things that make this girl very happy! Can't wait to combine them to build my next project - adding some electrical assistance to my loom to compensate for a troublesome knee.
