What a sweet little Corona.
TRUE LIFE: I’m addicted to typewriters. 💖 . . I absolutely love the look and sound of typewriters. I currently own two and have spent a total of $6 on both of them. People just give them away! The black one I’ve had for years and bought at an auction for $5 and it weighs a metric ton, and the blue electric one I found at a garage sale for $1 in perfect condition! What. A. Steal. . . Is there anything you collect? If I had the space and could find them, I’d have a roomful of old typewriters. Normal? Probably not. 🤷🏻‍♀️ . . #typewriter #collections #typewriters #bookstagram #bookphotography #bibliophile #flatlay #bookish #booklover #booknerd #bookworm #photography #typewriterlove #typewritersofig #latenitereader
A delightful old Underwood I spotted at The Kauai Museum last month.
Taking some breaks today to clean up this beauty! Meet Mrs. Cameron, gifted to me this Christmas by @joanne_hertrich. This #royaltypewriter is in insanely good condition, and is even stamped with the original owner's name: Mrs. R.F. Cameron. I always wonder about the lives of my typewriters--where they were assembled, where they've traveled, who they've known and seen, why they were left wherever I found them, who has stroked their keys, what stories they've told, the ones they've held secret, and the things that have been spawned to life out of their ribbons and ink. I have typewriters that have seen great wars, have typed up historical manifestos, typewriters that wrote songs, and one that inked my grandmother's memoir, but this one is still a mystery. I will find you in history, Mrs. R.F. Cameron, and learn your story. . . . . #typewriter #antique #collector #typewritersofinstagram #typewriters #typewritersofig #write #writerslife #writersofig #writersofinstagram #royal #bookstagram #book #author #authorsofig #authorsofinstagram #type
I loved that the #2017bestnine included the Little Free Library. And I adore all of you for your likes and comments and follows this past year. Blessings and love to all of you in the New Year!

Why isn't there a typewriter emoji?💙 #mine #typewritersofig #hellobeautiful #vintage
My SIL sent me this shot of a wonderful old Underwood she spotted in a Denver bar. Ah, to know the secrets, lies and lines hidden beneath these keys.
This wonderful little gem is a 1930s Royal Deluxe Touch Control portable typewriter. The portable part always makes me laugh. Royal came late to the portable typewriter race, but quickly dominated the field. I actually started to type on a portable Royal my mother had owned for years. #typewritertuesday
This is (I believe, since I couldn’t find another model like it) a late 30s or early 40s L.C. Smith typewriter manufactured in Syracuse, New York. Spotted in the window of an office machine shop in Rock Springs, Wyoming. It could stand some love, don’t you think?
The massive silver lining to cleaning and organizing: discovering this beauty, which has sat unused for 40 or 50 years. Because it was in a tightly closed case all this time, it’s still in perfect working condition. You’d better hope you’re on my snail mail list! And check out the super cool logo that looks like a 1950s atom, but is actually an interlocked SR for Sears Roebuck. Hope I’m doing an OK job running with the baton passed by @greerchicago ! #manualtypewritermonday #manualtypewriter #towertypewriter #towertabulator #writemoreletters #postallove #typewriter #1956 #instatypewriter #typewritersofinstagram #typewritersofig #schreibmaschine
This is one of the 449,000 Oliver No. 9 typewriters produced between 1915 and 1922. Clearly, it's been well loved. I can't help but wonder what stories and secrets it's pounded onto pages over the years. (Seen in an office machine store window, Rock Springs, WY.)
An early 1930ish Woodstock 5. Advertised for it's "light action, open face construction, speedy in operation." Made in Woodstock, Il. Light and speedy, every writer's dream.
I forgot my August wrap-up so here it is: House Immortal series by Devon Monk (1-3) 3.5 stars The Queen of Blood by Sara Beth Durst Dragonborn (1-4) by Ella Summers 3 stars The Ugly Stepsister by Aya Ling 2 stars I read pretty random books this month and not at all what I really wanted to (or as much as I wanted to either for that matter). Oh the curse of a mood reader 😭 are you like me or can you read whatever whenever? • • • • • • • • • #books #book #midknighttraveller #series #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookworm #key #bookseries #reading #bookaddict #photooftheday #autumn #bookgeek #bookstagramfeatures #bookishfeatures #booklover #writer #becauseofreading #follow #📚 #📖 #youngadult #fantasy #yafantasy #typewritersofig #typewriter #photography .
Hi there. This is my new typwriter - I can't believe it!!!! I've been wanting to get one for so long but never thought that I'd find one for some reason but here it is *tada*. The ribbon needs a change but other than that it's as good as new! It was pretty cheap and I have tried it out a bit already, I'm in love 😍 do you have or want one? • On another note, after months of not being that happy with my theme and not knowing which direction I wanted to go (which caused a lot of frustration on my part) I finally found my inspiration and I'm SO HAPPY. Thank you guys for having such patience with me, I really appreciate it ❤️
A 1906 Underwood 5. The perfect sort for dashing off your latest pages. From @gem_of_southern_wyo.
The Venerable Corona 3 With fans from Hemingway to Teddy Roosevelt, the Corona 3 was the original coolest gadget around. Writers of all stripes loved this portable workhorse—with more than 600,000 of them sold in the first two decades of the last century. Hemingway even wrote an ode to his Corona 3. Huffpost has a wonderful article on the history of the Corona. Give it a Google and learn all about it.
Vintage 1960s Smith-Corona typewriter. I don’t know what I love more—that I learned to type on one of these or that wonderful aqua color. Source: spotted in a repair shop window in Rock Springs, Wy. #typewritertuesday #rocksprings
Monarch Typewriter 3, built around 1913 in Syracuse, NY. Love that it still types. Source: Picture taken at the Grand Encampment Museum, Encampment, WY #typewritertuesday #grandencampmentmuseum #gemmuseum
The way to make a writer's heart go potter patter: a bank vault full of antique typewriters. #TypewriterTuesday
To be fair, Brett's stat line looks more normal now, but that just makes him more exciting as a prospect. I started paying attention to him again a few weeks ago when his line was something insane and seemingly impossible like .198/.488/.640 #newpoem #newpoems #newpoetry #newproject #poem #poems #poetry #shortpoem #shortpoems #shortpoetry #typewriter #typewriterpoem #typewriterpoems #typewritersofig #typewriterpoetry #poetsofig #poetsofinsta #poetsofinstagram #words #baseball #baseballpoetry #prospects #catcher #braves #romebraves #bravesbaseball
