Just had a really disappointing Pilates assessment. Turns out my core has been even more affected by pregnancy than I thought. Every small movement made my muscles shake. I don't care about weight loss or "getting my body back", I'm all for #bodypositivity, but I know a weak core can lead to all sorts of issues down the line and I'm already feeling it in my back. On the up side, Jude is asleep after rolling around on the Pilates mats and I've just found this breastfeeding friendly jumpsuit in @tuclothing at Sainsbury's. 5 and a half months postpartum. I often feel frustrated that I’ve not made more progress with my body, strength and overall fitness. But then I remind myself that considering I had severe pelvic girdle pain when pregnant and have been battling with postnatal anxiety, I’ve actually done pretty well. Also for me, fitness now is more about feeling good in my body and mind, and less so about how I look (not that I wouldn’t mind some abs back!) I want to be able to run faster, climb obstacles and lift heavier.
