Bc heavy hip thrusts are just a must for the booty😭🙌🏼 This is 315x8 (I did 4 sets and was dying) this is a volume and weight PR for thrusts and I’m v excited bc I haven’t been in the gym for a week bc my life is so busy😿 But, hip thrusts are a staple and I try and get them in once a week either on my shoulder day or leg day (if I do my deadlifts on back day). 💪 PROGRESS VIDEO - WEEK 13 💪 Today was full body day and GURL, did I feel it! Having gone through my new programmes with my trainer @spenor before he jets off overseas for a month, this is my first session doing my new full body programme without the additional cheer leader 😂👍. I really love hip thrusts - they really wipe me out and challenge me. Did my PB today thrusting 65kg weights (about 75kg if you take into consideration the smith machine bar). Feeling stronger, seeing my muscles pop out (they’re still tiny but I’m working on that! :p and trying to ensure I hit my macros everyday. BIG RICH!!!! Over here hip thrusting 335. 😳⛹🏽‍♂️💪🏽Dude, I am soooo proud of this guy! If y’all could only see where he started from... When he first came to me, his goal was to do whatever he had to do to be able to play basketball again without being exhausted and in pain....and of course he wanted to increase his vertical jump. 🏀 •••••••••• We spent months laying a solid foundation before we started really focusing on strength training. Once we started strength training, it was GAMEOVER. This guy has become a complete powerhouse. He started playing again about 2 months ago and is absolutely crushing it out there. •••••••••• His exact words....”COACH, I feel like I’m in a new body. I’m jumping higher than I’ve ever jumped. Dunking way over the rim. Moving better than everyone on the court. You got me feeling like my college hoop days again.” 🙌🏽🙌🏽😂 •••••••••• This guy is a perfectionist when it comes to EVERYTHING and is ALWAYS asking me a ton of questions, but I low key love it!! 😂 The hard work and consistency has definitely paid off. Ive stopped squatting heavy for the next month and have replaced squats with these. This was 295 for 12 reps after two sets of 335 x 8. Glute bridging under time and tension. Adding a booty band above your knees makes the movement harder as your knees are fighting for abduction against the band... one of the primary roles of the glutes. . Count to 6 secs on the way up... hold for a breath... lower slowly again. Avoid having an anterior pelvic tilt. . There are many variations of this movement that you can add into your routine including a single leg Bridge, a band with resistance around your hips, or a bridge with your feet elevated on an exercise ball or box. . These are great to end a workout or to begin a workout and activate your glutes into action if you find that they are still asleep during your main exercises. .
