Carb loaded for tomorrow's quad focused leg day so I'm happy 😊 You don't have to be afraid of carbs when it comes to whipping your body into shape. I hear a lot of women ask about carbs and how it's going to make them fat. If you are bulking, which I currently am trying to gain a lot of muscle mass, then yes I carb load. It's a very good source of energy that your muscles need. Protein isn't the only thing you need to build mass. You need protein to rebuild damaged muscle tissue and carbs to fill your muscles with glycogen (aka a stash of energy). If you're trying to cut fat, I don't recommend carb loading. You don't want to completely cut carbs out because it is your body's main source of energy and you'll still need it to lift. However, your body will store whatever glycogen is left and not used up as fat. The human body likes to make sure it has everything in stock just in case it ever needs it. If you are competing, I highly recommend hiring a trainer to help you. If you don't figure out your macro intake properly, there is a possibility of loosing a lot of muscle mass in a very short amount of time. I'm not talking about gym trainers, I'm talking about trainers who specialize in competitions. I personally am a huge fan of carbs as it makes me a very happy little lady. I can't imagine completely cutting them out like I see some competitors doing. I don't know how they stay sane and focused being so exhausted. When it comes to eating carbs, yes I eat my cake and donuts and Lucky Charms, but I focus on getting Whole Foods in (aka whole grain). Those are packed in antioxidants and fiber which is very important for gut health, and it helps keep out unnecessary weight gain. Refined carbs are proven to increase the risk of obesity because they digest quickly and you're hungry again. Trust me, I made the switch to whole grains and there is a difference in how you feel. Your body doesn't need all that unnecessary junk. I hope all this info helps 🤗

Posting this because I'm always battling the wind when taking photos outside. Something I've been wanting to talk about.... it's mental health awareness month and of course, I've been seeing some "challenges" that are supposed to help you overcome what you're going though. I'm all for making money off of Instagram whether that be through sponsorships or just regular self branding. But when someone who is completely un-qualified is selling guides on getting rid of depression, it infuriates me. 1. You won't get rid of depression or suicidal thoughts within 10 days. It's a process and a long journey. 2. There are people who study how the brain works for a long number of years so they'd know how to help you. Go see them. 3. There is a reason why malpractice insurance exists and why doctors have them. I can't believe that someone who happened to overcome depression thinks she can cure the entire word. Everyone is different. What helped her, may not help you. 4. There's a fine line between telling people what helped you, and literally selling strategies on how to get rid of depression and anxiety. I love the fitness community. But literally, this is way out of hand. Please do not buy these guides. Finding happiness should not be a 10 day or 5 week competition. There shouldn't be a monetary reward at the end of it either because the happiest person gets the prize. The end goal should just be a happy you. Please go see a medical professional. And to those of you who are selling these guides, I can't believe I'm saying this but, we liked you better when you sold your BS skinny teas. ✋🏻

Who's ready for summer? It's nearly here! Just two more finals 😊 Who's achieved their summer body goals? I personally haven't because my goal is to be a little bit on the thicker side (I'm still skinny 😂) but I definitely made a ton of progress and I'm excited to continue to make more. Just because it's summer doesn't mean I'm just going to stop working. Even if I did achieve my summer goals, I wouldn't stop working. You still have to maintain that physique. At the end of the day, I don't have any definition in my abs. Second of all, doing ab exercises won't get you any abs. I have tons of people telling me it hasn't been working and there is a reason, you have to chisel the definition out. Literally, get rid of the fat covering your stomach. Everyone has abs. It's just a matter of carving them out. When you do ab exercises, you're basically strengthening and growing your ab muscles. You're not melting the fat off. If I were trying to get abs, here's what I would do: 1. I would go on a diet. I'd go on a high protein, low fat, low carb diet. The protein would be to preserve my muscle while melting fat away. 2. I'd incorporate cardio to help speed up the process. 3. I'm not a big believer in fat burners but if you're looking for a natural burner then apple cider vinegar works. Obviously dilute it with water or some kind of fruit water. I'm not a fan of the taste so I can't handle it. Remember you can't spot reduce fat. Meaning, when you lose fat, you'll lose fat everywhere not just abs. Also, keep in mind that I have a high metabolism and that helps a lot. I personally don't have to work as hard for definition but other people might. Don't give up or lose hope 😊

Helloooo my peepz 🐥 Just a little update: I haven't lifted since Wednesday due to a family emergency that involves a hospital (everyone's fine). My schedule has become a lot tighter the last couple of days. Hopefully it'll get better soon. My diet has sucked. I spent most of my time at the hospital and I can't eat in hospitals. I'm very germaphobic and I feel like everything I touch is just loaded with germs and I've washed my hands and showered at least a million times. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things on Monday. Finals week is on Monday and I know I'll be too tired to make it to the gym but I'll end up going anyway because there's nothing better than deadlifting your stress away. I'm sorry I've been MIA lately and haven't been posting much. Life has me all wrapped up and busy. Hopefully soon, I can get back to posting regularly, and maybe getting back to your questions in my DMs 🙏🏻
